Consider the Source

When I was a kid my dad taught me a very important life lesson. He had many great sayings and one of them was “consider the source.” I have used this many a time in my life and it helps me get through many a situation. I take it to mean something like this: If you piss of somebody that is always getting pisssed off at everybody then don’t put too much into it. They are always getting pisssed off so it’s likely them and not you. Now, if you piss off a mild mannered nun who never gets angry then it’s likely that you are the asshole and not her. Or it may be interpreted as this-if a wise man gives you advice you should probably listen to it, if the town idiot gives you advice don’t put too much stock into it.

As I watched the news last night and I heard about Donald Trump’s decision to formally recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and to move the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv I thought about my dad’s life lessson, “consider the source.” Now the Palestinians are pissed and the Hamas are calling for a day of rage and today the Palestinian and Israeli troops are clashing. As this is not a political blog I will not and do not need to take sides on the issue of whether or not Trump did the right thing. That is not the point of this blog. The point is about how we react to things that bother us.

If I were Palestinian this would be my reaction to Trump. “I don’t give a fuck what Trump says.  I don’t care if he moves the U.S. embassy. So what? I’m not gonna get mad like some 10 year old child because Donald Trump didn’t take my side. I mean really am I going to riot, am I going to have a day of rage should people get shot should lives be lost because of that insensitive ill mannered 35% approval rating, grab em by the pussy president. Donald Trump is not going to make me act in an undignified manner. Lives should not be lost because of that assholes opinion.”

Consider the source people. Now I’m not Palestinian and like I said I’m not hear to say Trump was right or wrong on this but really is Donald Trump the mild mannered nun in this situation or the shit disturbing asshole that was described in the opening paragraph? I think we know the answer to that question.

  1. We could consider the source that he is a narcissistic idiotic lunatic sure or whatever you want to label him as, but it doesn’t change the fact he has the power to change important things that matter and risk a lot. He could make or break the USA now if he wanted too. We do kinda have to consider his decisions and people have a right to be upset imo if it effects their people, land, politics or choices etc. But maybe I’m wrong? xD

    1. oh yes he’s completely narcissistic. But by reacting so strongly to his Jerusalem decision(Israelies and Palestinians are both reacting strong) it kind of fuels his narcissism it re-inforces his ego by saying see people care about what I think. I guess what I’m saying is that his Jersusalem decision really is just semantics it doesn’t have any real power other than the power to piss people off if they choose to get pissed off. But the point you make about making or breaking the USA is a a scary but true point.
