The prayer of St. Francis of Assisi
Lord make me an instrument of thy peace
Where there is hatred let me sow love
Where there is injury pardon
Where there is doubt, faith
Where there is despair, hope
Where there is darkness, light
Where there is sadness, joy
Oh,divine Master, grant that I may not seek so much as to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we recieve it is in pardoning that we are pardoned. It is in dying that we are born again to eternal life.
This is my favorite prayer and by no means is it the only great one ou there. On a personal note I have said this hundreds of times at my 7am meeting. I also had the privilege of going to Asisi in Itali and having a cannoli and visiting the St francis cathedral. What a blessing. Did you know the Franciscan cross is shaped like a capital T instead of the standard t shape? I brought a few home as gifts.
What is your favorite prayer and why?
