Song Lyrics Yeah!!!

OKay, So I was checking out some of my favorite bloggers and i noticed a few people doing what they call song lyric sunday so I thought yeah I will share some of my favorite song lyrics. My favorite band of all time is Counting Crows. Two main reasons why

1: Adam Duritz;the lead singer; He could sing the phone book and I would get teary eyed. Such a soulful singer. I got teary eyed just thinking about him singing this song when I was reading the lyrics.

2. The lyrics: If you go back to the August and Everything after album, their debut you will find it full of songs with tremendous lyrics. The members of the band are very literate song writers-very poignant and very poetic and they have a way of capturing a slice of life and bringing it to you.

This is in my opinion the best written love song I have ever heard.

Anna Begins

[Verse 1]
My friend assures me, “It’s all or nothing”
I am not worried, I am not overly concerned
My friend implores me, “For one time only
Make an exception” I am not worried

[Verse 2]
Wrap her up in a package of lies
Send her off to a coconut island

I am not worried
I am not overly concerned

[Verse 3]
With the status of my emotions
Oh, she says, “You’re changing”
But we’re always changing
It does not bother me to say

[Verse 4]
This isn’t love
Cause if you don’t wanna to talk about it
Then it isn’t love

And I guess, I’m gonna have to live without

[Verse 5]
But I’m sure there’s something in a shade of gray
Or something’ in between
And I can always change my name
If that’s what you mean

[Verse 6]
My friend assures me, “It’s all or nothing”
But I am not really worried
I am not overly concerned

You try to tell your self the things, you try tell your self
To make yourself forget, to make your self forget
Am not worried

[Verse 7]
“If it’s love” She said
Then we’ve gonna have to think about the consequences
Cause she can’t stop shaking
And I can’t stop touching her

[Chorus]
And this time when kindness falls like rain
It washes her away
And Anna begins to change her mind

[Verse 8]
“These seconds when I’m shaking
Leave me shuddering for days” She says
And I’m not ready for this sort of thing

But I’m not gonna break
And I’m not gonna worry about it anymore
I’m not gonna bend and I’m not gonna break
Gonna worry about it anymore
No, no, no, no, no

[Verse 9]
It seems like I should say
“As long as this is love”
But it’s not all that easy so maybe I should

Snap her up in a butterfly net
And pin her down on a photograph album

I am not worried
Cause you’ve done this sort of thing before

[Interlude]
But then I start to think about the consequences
Cause I don’t get no sleep in a quiet room

[Chorus]
And this time when kindness falls like rain
It washes me away
And Anna begins to change my mind

[Verse 10]
Every time she sneezes
I believe it’s love
And oh, Lord, I’m not ready for this sort of thing

[Verse 11]
And every word is nonsense
But I understand
And oh, Lord, I’m not ready for this sort of thing

Her kindness bangs a gong
It’s moving me along
And Anna begins to fade away

[Outro]
It’s chasing me away
She disappears
And oh, Lord, I’m not ready for this sort of thing

You absolutely have to hear this song. It just kills me every time. The way he emotes this song I immediately can relate to that kind of torturous love. We probably all can.

    1. my 4 favorite albums come from the 90’s. August and everything after,Jagged little pill by Alannis morrisette, nevermind by Nirvana and Dookie by Green day. I should blog about the time I turned my 300lb cross dressing diana ross impersonating friend onto Alannis Morissette and we’re doing carpool karaoke to “You Oughta Know”. Remind me to write that blog.
